The Girl in the Mirror

A Life Between Sunrises

Reclaiming the Self through Inner Light

Have you ever felt disconnected from who you really are?

You look in the mirror and recognize the face but feel a sense of distance.

You move through the rhythms of life, but something essential feels just out of place.

You may have accomplished much or appeared outwardly successful, yet the quiet ache still lingers:

Who am I?

This reflection is for those who have spent years seeking themselves through the eyes of others.

It is for those who have looked outward for clarity, love, or a sense of belonging and still felt a subtle emptiness within.

It is for those who are ready to return to themselves.

This is a story of remembering.

A return to center.

A reawakening of the light that was never truly lost.

The Outer Search

For most of my life, I tried to understand who I was by looking outward.

I chased approval, perfection, and connection.

I shaped myself through achievements, through how others responded to me, and through the roles I thought I had to fill.

But no matter how much I did, it never brought me peace.

The image in the mirror felt incomplete.

The sense of “me” remained elusive.

Eventually, something inside became still.

In that silence, I stopped reaching outside myself and began to listen within.

That is when everything began to shift.

The Girl in the Mirror

She is not a stranger.

She has always been beside me.

She is not the physical body or the reflection on the glass.

She is the witness.

The soul companion.

The quiet presence who has walked with me since the beginning.

I started to sense her more clearly.

She appeared in the space before the sunrise.

In the moments when I stopped performing and allowed myself to be.

When I looked into my own eyes without needing to fix or change, I caught a glimpse of her.

She was watching.

She was waiting.

She was inviting me to remember.

The Turning Point

One morning, I stood beside my husband, Todd, under a pale, early sky.

We looked up together in silence, both drawn to something above us.

A light pulsed in the distance, and I felt what I can only describe as the breath of God.

Since then, the sunrise has become a sacred threshold.

It marks the passage between what has been and what is becoming.

It is the space where I am not trying to be someone else but where I remember who I truly am.

Each morning offers that same quiet gift.

A chance to begin again.

To return to the inner self I once forgot.

Living from Within

This shift did not occur suddenly.

It unfolded through stillness, softness, and surrender.

I began asking different questions.

Who am I without striving?

Who am I when no one is watching?

Who is the one who has always lived within me?

The answers did not come from outside.

They arrived gently through the breath, through the body, and the quiet space within.

I Am Waking Up

I am no longer chasing an image.

I am listening to the truth that lives inside me.

I feel a new kind of energy rising within my body.

It moves like golden light through my bloodstream.

It reminds me that I am alive and that I belong to myself.

I carry more courage now.

Clarity is growing.

I am no longer watching my life from the outside.

I am living inside it.

This is what awakening feels like.

Not a dramatic shift but a sacred return.

If You Are Also Searching

You are not alone in this journey.

Your inner self is not lost or broken.

The version of you that feels forgotten is still within you.

When you stop seeking outwardly and begin turning inward, you will find her.

She is still here.

She is still watching.

She is still waiting for your return.

Your soul knows the way back.

Energetic Insight: The Solar Plexus Chakra

This journey is rooted in the Solar Plexus Chakra, located just above the navel. This center governs:

  • Self-worth and identity

  • Personal power and inner truth

  • Confidence and clarity

  • Willpower, choice, and the ability to act

When the Solar Plexus is imbalanced, you may feel dependent on outside approval or struggle with indecision and self-doubt. When it is balanced, you feel confident, steady, and anchored in your truth.

Ways to Balance the Solar Plexus Chakra

  1. Sunlight:

  2. Spend a few minutes each morning in the sun. Let the warmth and light activate your core and remind you of your power.

  3. Affirmations:

  4. Speak aloud:

  5. I know who I am. I trust my inner wisdom. I stand in my power.

  6. Breathwork:

  7. Breathe deeply into your belly. As you inhale, imagine golden light expanding through your torso.

  8. Movement:

  9. Engage in movement that activates your core, such as twisting, dancing, or yoga. Let your body express what your words cannot.

  10. Write to Your Inner Self:

  11. Sit in your journal and write a letter to the girl in the mirror. Ask her what she remembers, and let her speak.

Journal Prompts for Your Soul Mirror

These prompts are here to help you reconnect with the one inside you:

  • When do I feel most connected to my true self?

  • Where am I still seeking validation or identity that comes from outside of myself?

  • What is my soul asking me to remember today?

Are You Ready to Remember Who You Are?

If this story reflects your own experience, your Soul Mirror may be ready to be seen.

The Soul Mirror Reading is a one-on-one energy healing session offered through The Healing Portal. It is a sacred space to witness the truth of who you are, not through judgment or analysis, but through the light of remembrance.

In this session, we ask:

  • Who is the soul behind the story?

  • What is ready to be reclaimed?

You are not meant to walk this path alone.
