My Story
My name is Luzia, and I am the light that stands at every portal, where the soul remembers itself, where light meets shadow, and where joy becomes medicine again.
The Healing Portal is not something I built. It is something I remembered. It is a sacred space that has always existed in the in-between, where truth rises and the soul is welcomed home.
My path has carried me through many thresholds. I walked as a yoga teacher and student for over fifteen years, exploring how breath and movement become prayer. That path led me into the deeper waters of healing through trauma, addiction, and the unraveling of old identities.
In time, I found myself called into ceremonial work. Plant and spirit medicines became mirrors, midwives, and teachers. They showed me how joy and grief live side by side, and how forgiveness opens the gates of freedom. They reminded me that healing is not about fixing what is broken. It is about remembering what is whole.
Alongside my husband, I co-founded Modern Kambo and served communities nationwide, offering medicine ceremonies and practitioner trainings. We now root our work in Northern California, where we hold space for transformation, devotion, and truth.
Motherhood, too, has shaped my path. Raising three radiant children into adulthood has been my greatest achievement. It has humbled, taught, and expanded my heart beyond anything I could have imagined.
During my healer training, my teacher gave me the name Luzia, meaning “the light.” It felt foreign at first, but slowly, I understood it as the essence I had always carried—a remembrance of who I was before the world told me otherwise.
I also honor Jill, the name I was born with. She is the one who walked through the fire, who carried the weight, and who never gave up. Luzia is the light, and Jill is the one who carried it here.
As I deepened into this work, I came to see that my soul’s gift is to walk with others through transition—through portals of healing, visibility, loss, purpose, and rebirth. I hold space where the veil is thin, where endings become beginnings, and where light welcomes you, lets you go, and welcomes you again.
I came to remember something essential. Joy is not a luxury. It is not an afterthought. It is medicine—the medicine our bodies and souls have been longing for. Joy is sacred. Joy is remembering. Joy is returning.
The Healing Portal exists: to hold you as you remember who you are, to bring back joy into your field, and to walk beside you through whatever portal you face, with light, truth, and grace.
You are welcome here. Your tenderness. Your truth. Your becoming.
All of it.
